USDA REAP PROGRAM

Laurens County, SC, August 7, 2024 – The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) is excited to announce a new grant opportunity for agricultural producers and rural small businesses. This program provides grant funding of up to 50% of project costs for renewable energy systems or energy efficiency improvements.


REAP aims to support the implementation of sustainable practices by enabling businesses to invest in renewable energy solutions and improve their energy efficiency. This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability but also helps reduce energy costs and enhances the overall competitiveness of rural businesses.


Eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass energy systems

  • Energy efficiency upgrades to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems

  • Energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration

  • Improvements to building insulation and windows
